Chicagoan Francesca Folinazzo (Frank) founded Roots Music Rambler as a music and travel blog in a pre-pandemic world. COVID killed events and travel plus her desire to play her banjo. Falls texted her in 2023 and said, 'Let's bring it back as a podcast!' He was raised on John Prine, babysat on Waylon Jennings and taught to drink and cuss the proper, mountain way. He hails from Pikeville, Ky., the birthplace of Dwight Yoakum, whose annual festival is Hillbilly Days.
The latest episode of Roots Music Rambler is out and features one of our favorite bands: @thelocalhoneys. Frank and Falls chatted with @lindajeanstokley and @montanafromky about everything from influences to mountain mommas and everything in between. It’s sure worth a watch or a listen.
Both of the Honeys are very active in the music scene in their home state of Kentucky which Montana described as almost idyllic.

If you haven’t caught the new episode of Roots Music Rambler, stop what you’re doing and go watch, listen, or at least bookmark it for later.
Frank and Falls talk to @lindajeanstokley and @montanafromky from @thelocalhoneys about everything from their early days at Morehead State University to managing the business of being a band and more.
Montana explained the band’s tendency to write protest songs — less common than they once were — is just because no one ever told them they couldn’t.

On the latest episode of Roots Music Rambler, @lindajeanstokley and @montanafromky from @thelocalhoneys told us all kinds of stories about their background, music, impact and more. They didn’t confirm a new album is coming, but they also didn’t exactly deny that, either.
They did talk about some of the singles they’ve dropped recently, including Sorry You’re Sick, a cover of a Ted Hawkins song Linda Jean said she loves to play fast and wild.

We had such a blast talking to @lindajeanstokley and @montanafromky from @thelocalhoneys on the latest episode of Roots Music Rambler. Getting to know them is like getting to know Appalachia. Their music, their purpose-led writing, their sense of humor and self … we can’t say enough.
We asked them all kinds of questions including who influences them as songwriters. Linda Jean said a fellow Kentuckian is at the top of that list.

An all new episode of Roots Music Rambler is live and this week, we have the thrill of chatting with @lindajeanstokley and @montanafromky from @thelocalhoneys! They’re best known for their traditional mountain music-infused sound and songs that protest and stand up for injustices, especially those suffered by the poor in Appalachia.
Linda Jean told us how the song Cigarette Trees, which is an indictment of big coal companies taking advantage of miners and communities in the mountains, came about.
