The Backstage Pass

Roots Music Rambler has a home on Patreon now. Come in the front door for free and hang around. Take a Backstage Pass and you get the show without ads, the parts of the conversation that never aired, and everything Frank and Falls write when an episode is not big enough to hold it.

Free to join the community. Backstage Pass is $10 a month. Cancel any time.

What a pass gets you

Four things you cannot get in the free feed.

01

The ad-free show feed

Every Friday episode, same day, with the ads stripped out. Patreon hands you a private feed link you can paste into Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, or whatever app you already use.

02

Exclusive outtakes and interview segments

Audio and video that never makes the free feed. The tangents, the second half of a conversation that ran long, the story an artist told once the mics were supposed to be off.

03

Bonus writing from Frank and Falls

Album and concert reviews, travel guides to the towns and venues the show keeps circling back to, and commentary on the hot topics that do not fit inside an episode.

04

15% off the RMR Store

A standing discount on records, shirts, hats, and everything else in the store, good for as long as your membership is active.

Free vs Backstage Pass

The show stays free. The pass adds to it.

Nothing that is public today goes behind a paywall. Friday episodes stay on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and everywhere else you already listen.

Who you are supporting

Frank and Falls, and the miles between them.

Roots Music Rambler is two people chasing the same question from opposite ends of a map: where does a song actually come from? Memberships pay for the road, the rooms, the gear, and the time it takes to sit with an artist long enough to get past the press release.

The bonus writing is the part that never had a home before. Album and concert reviews, guides to the towns and venues the show keeps coming back to, and the arguments about roots music that are too long, too opinionated, or too far off-topic for a Friday episode.

Questions

Before you join.

Can I join for free?

Yes. Joining the Roots Music Rambler community on Patreon costs nothing, and free members can follow along with what Frank and Falls are posting. The Backstage Pass is the paid membership that unlocks the ad-free feed, the outtakes, the bonus writing, and the store discount.

How do I get the ad-free feed into my podcast app?

Once your Backstage Pass is active, Patreon gives you a private RSS link. Paste that link into Apple Podcasts, Overcast, Pocket Casts, or any app that supports adding a feed by URL, and the ad-free episodes arrive there every Friday alongside everything else you subscribe to.

How does the 15% store discount work?

Backstage Pass members get a discount code posted in the Patreon community. Enter it at checkout in the Roots Music Rambler Store for 15% off your order. The code stays good for as long as your membership is active.

Does the free show go away?

No. The Friday episode stays free and public on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and everywhere else you already listen. The Backstage Pass adds to that; it does not put a wall around it.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from your Patreon account. Your benefits run to the end of the period you have already paid for.
